Tree Town Overview and Environment

Tree Town offers classes for children from 2 to 5 years of age. Minimum age is two years as of September 1^st of the school year. Morning and afternoon classes are available (based on demand and enrollment), for one, two or three days per week, depending on age level. Additional enrichment classes -- such as Science, Spanish, and Phonics -- are also offered predicated on interest and enrollment.

At Tree Town, children can enjoy the kind of environment that allows them to develop a positive self-image while experiencing the joys of learning. The classrooms are furnished to meet the interests, needs and changing temperaments of young children. Because Tree Town is dedicated to having parent helpers in the class, most classes have a ratio of one adult to approximately six children (even more favorable for the two year old program), exceeding required standards. This allows each child to receive individual attention and enables the students to participate in a wide variety of activities.

Indoor equipment available for developing gross motor skills includes a rocking boat, balance beam, tunnel, ride on trucks and trains. A carpenter’s bench, sensory table, kitchen and other housekeeping areas stimulate imaginative play. Paper, scissors, paste, puzzles, games, clay and various types of paint are available on a daily basis to encourage the development of fine motor coordination. The school also enjoys a completely fenced outdoor play area with slides, climbing wall, and large sand, water and planting areas.

Tree Town also schedules a variety of field trips and classroom visitors to help enhance your child’s learning experience. Field trips may include a trip to the fire station or library as well as nature tours and maple syrup tapping at Fullersburg Woods. Classroom visitors may include a fire fighter, doctor, nurse, and librarian.
