Tree Town Newsletter							April/May 2008                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
In the classroom in the next few weeks we will be talking about Spring –Seeds, Butterflies, Birds. The four year olds will experience Space travel as they construct a shuttle and mission control area in the classroom. In the month of May our focus will be on transitions and saying “good-bye” (Note information at the end of the newsletter.

For Income Tax purposes, the Tree Town Tax Number is: 36-2659362.

Registration 2008-2009
We have only a couple of openings in the three-year old classes. Word of mouth is our best publicity so please make sure you tell your friends.  They can contact the school 630.279.8778. The first tuition payment along with your signed contract and committee form or board interest form for the 2008-2009 school year was due April 1st. You will be receiving information in the next few weeks indicating any forms that you may need to provide or update prior to August 1, 2008.

Nominating Committee
The nominating committee has met and proposed a slate of officers for the 2008-09 school year. The slate will be voted on at the May 1st Parent Meeting.

Vision and Hearing Screening
The 3 and 4-year old classes will have a Vision and Hearing screening on May 1st and May 2nd.  The rescreening will take place on May 16th.  The children will practice here at school prior to the screening and a practice sheet will be sent home the week of April 21st.
Each class will need one extra helper to usher children into the screening room. If you have not been as active as you might have here is another chance to volunteer.

Tree Town Parent Meeting!

 Do you have questions about college savings? Wondering what you should be doing to protect your family’s financial future? Then this is the meeting for you! Scott Schuster of Smith Barney (and a Tree Town dad!) will touch on some of the basics about college savings plans such as 529s, Bright Start and College Illinois. He will also touch on other basic steps you can take to be better prepared, financially and otherwise, for your parenting years! This is a meeting you don’t want to miss!
